Nikki Elkins
Ever since I was a child, I have been more interested in people than anything else. I am a counsellor for adults and children, working privately and in a number of primary schools.

Before becoming a counsellor I studied Philosophy at University, trained as a nurse and have worked within the NHS and Social Services.

My therapeutic approach is person centred, which means that you are at the heart of everything in the counselling relationship. Everyone has different needs in therapy and my job is to understand yours and assist you in finding a way forward.

I want to connect in an honest, non-judgemental way and work alongside you with compassionate understanding. Clients come to me with a range of issues including: family conflicts, anxiety, depression, marriage breakdown, anger, stress and relationship difficulties.

In addition, I work with young children (from 5 years old) and teenagers. I have supported young people with issues including: bullying, bereavement, social anxiety, self-harm, autistic spectrum disorder, eating disorders, sexuality and relationship issues, self-esteem and academic pressure.

If you’re thinking about seeing me, I would welcome the opportunity to have a conversation, meeting or email communication. I will describe the way I work and my fees, allowing you to decide if my therapeutic approach is right for you.

I know it can take great courage to make contact, but it can be the first step on an important road. From the moment you make this decision, I will be right alongside you.
